Sadun Bandara Rathnayake, a specialist in Portrait, Still Life and Landscape Photography is recognized for capturing beauty in nature, spirituality, conflict between human emotions as well as varied aspects of society and culture. Among his achievements and awards include being awarded for two submissions out of the three he submitted, at IPA 2015, where he emerged first winner of IPA portrait & cultural division. He is the youngest Sri Lankan to do so, at the age of 24, with his first image collection. In late January 2016, Sadun went on to earn another honorable mention in the portrait category at the prestigious Monochrome Awards, held in London, honouring Black & White Photography. Having grown up in Kandy, the hill country of Sri Lanka, he is now residing in the commercial capital of Colombo. This doesn’t stop his wandering eye from traveling across the island nation in search of that priceless shot. Sadun works with Hasselblad H5D & 4×5 large format camera and exclusively works with Kodak s and Ilford black and white films.
